Connect South West Ltd provides confidential, impartial, high quality Careers Information, Advice and Guidance (CIAG) to young people age 13-19 years old (up to 25 for those with a learning difficulty or disability) in schools and colleges across Somerset.
Schools and colleges are able to access a wide range of services and through Service Level Agreements which identify the service that will meet the needs of their students. This service is currently free of charge to the schools and colleges, but due to the pending Government changes to the Education Act, they will be chargeable from the 31st March 2012.

- Diagnostic and differentiated interviews.
- 1:1 guidance interviews.
- Group sessions.
- Work Experience placements.
- Enterprise day.
- Advice and guidance on the educational curriculum.
- Impartial and objective advice and guidance on option planning at key points of transition (Key Stage 4,post-16 and post-18).
- High quality labour market information and intelligence (local, regional and national).
- Support and guidance in the transition planning process from Year 9 for those young people with Learning difficulties/disabilities.
- A copy of ‘My Plan, My Future’ for those parents in Somerset whose son/daughter has Learning Difficulties/Disabilities.
- Individual appointments at our centres.
- Access to professionally qualified staff at parents’ events held at schools, colleges and at community events.
- INSET days for school staff.
- Advice and guidance on policy relating to careers for Governors.
- Information for parents/carers on how to support their child with career planning.
- Careers Fairs.
